Ok then as you most of you are aware I'm building the Ravenglass and Eskdale railway for Microsoft Train Simulator. Here's a quick competition for all you on here, just for fun, guess where each screenshot is taken. Most of them are devoid of buildings, as I'm not round to that yet, but let's see how you get on. Some are easier than others- and most of them are not in sequential order, some are obscure locations too! 1  2  3  4  5  6  7  8  9  10  11  12  13  14  15  16  17  18  19  20 Hopefully you'll all do well as I've not done a good job if you don't!!!! Still a lot of route building to go though as you can all see........... |

 1 Ravenglass headshunt (Barrow siding) 2 Ravenglass engine and carriage sheds 3 Muncaster mill 4 Miteside (though also conceivable to be Fisherground) 5 Miteside halt 6 Wet cutting 7 Irton road 9 Rock point 10 The green 12 The green crossing 13 Hollin how 14 Fisherground 15 Irton road 16 top of hollin how 17 Beckfoot quarry 18 Beckfoot halt 19 Dalegarth cottages 20 Dalegarth station Unfortunatly 8 and 11 have defeated me! Would like to see how many I got right and if anyone else can work out those I havn't |

That is absolutely superb. I have no idea how you guys build these simulators but the quality of digital modelling is just phenomenal!!! |

5 and 15 are wrong, anyone going to help out with these, 8 and 11? (Waiting for Eliot to post...........) Jud I think you got 13 the wrong way round- the number refers to the above picture. Glad you like it Tim. The answer is hard work, much studying of photographs, maps, gradient profiles, Google Earth and probing personal memories. Also coupled to a knowledge of MSTS which has been built up over a long time..........I'm not the best by a long shot at route building but one of the few who has given 15 inch a good shot. I'll try and get some shots of engines with trains up soon. |

Hang on 15 is the middle of Hollin How bank surely? I'll be embarresed if I get it wrong again. But 5 is now frustrating me, i'll have another shot. Horsefall wood?

You're now correct on 5 and 15. Any guesses on 8 and 11- both sites have something in common. |

Number 11 is Walk Mill Summit. The angle of picture doesn't show the 'peak' too well. Glad the screen shots went down well- more to come in the other thread all labelled with trains in them this time. |
