There isn't much more on it thatn what is on the website - a 1982 Clayton electric (not a BEV). Will see if I can find out its pre-Bowes Hitstory, it was with a private owner after industrial use from John Young at Bowes I think in the flourspar industry. I drove it at our steam gala and vintage rally in September & October 2005 on a portable line.

I know where I can get an engine...any time I want

The builders number is 5965 and was actually built in 1973 - have amended the web site.

Don't have any history before Bowes. Sorry.

Current plan is that when the shed extension in finished - hopefully, in the next few weeks, it will be brought indoors, the wheels taken out and it will be re-gauged to 20" from its present 18".

The sit astride coach which also came from Bowes will be re-gauged and used as transport to get up and down the line without the need to use a Pacific or the Baltic.

The plan is to keep it white for the time being.

Gents , the NBR Clayton is actually 5920 1972, a 7hp, 1 3/4 T loco, which worked in Civil Engineering for Purnell Plant, Miller Construction and Morgan=Est before preservation. Cheers , Dave

Will it receive a sea themed name like the other locos?

Sorry. Took the number and date off the battery box, which I understand was swapped around between loco's as they were charged up.

JORDAN ASHLEY LEEDS

Trains go into tunnels and come out but locos can go in sheds and never come out

i'd be quite interested to see some more pictures of this loco, especially in pieces... let me explain first, before you think i am being nasty because its not steam...

we do a lot of work for Claytons at the frim where i work, which mainly consists of gear boxes and motor yokes. I've personally machined around 25 gear boxes this year, and around 30 motor yokes... so i'd be quite interested to see if there are any 'similar' parts in the NBR loco...
