Many years ago, the sentient species of the Milky Way were nearly wiped out by a foe known as the Raxan. This species was terrible and cruel, its overriding hive mind directing it towards one purpose: conquest of all. The Raxan were a race of beings with no kindness or compassion, as well as being incapable of feeling any kind of emotion at all. The Raxan were beaten back, however, and under threat of annihilation the Raxan agreed to never again take up arms, and were monitored closely to make sure they would honor their word.

For over five hundred years, the Milky Way Galaxy enjoyed relative peace and prosperity under the Federation of Planets. The galaxy was seemingly on its way towards Utopia, a new golden age of cooperation between races.

However, that would not last.

The Federation became bloated and corrupt. They mishandled many catastrophes, wronging several species that were considered to be minor in the galactic stage. Their mangled policies and crippling red tape led towards a violent uprising by a group known as the Rebellion. EIn addition, the Raxan seemed to be with them. The Rebellion "liberated" the surrounding planets and it appears that they had established an alliance with the Raxan. With the ultimate warrior race on their side, the Rebellion is a threat the Federation can no longer ignore. The galaxy is tearing apart at the seams. Will you fight for peace and stability or do you sympathize with the Rebellion's cause?

History: (note I'm going to overhaul and flesh out his history in a series of flashbacks but I'll post those in the journals section)
Hauptmann Price was the illegitimate son of the famed Braeburn Price, captain in the federation navy, and Mae Granger, a barmaid in some backwater planet. His mother gave Hauptmann his father's last name in hopes of it leading to a better life. Price was forced to grow up in the slum. He quickly learned that he could not get out of fights using smooth talk, so he learned to use his fists. Often getting in the middle of gang activity, Price learned to fight, and fight well. Getting into fist fights almost every other day, Price learned not to shrink away from pain.

At the Age of 17 Price was convicted of armed robbery, assaulting two officers, and crimes against the Federation, the punishment was conscription into the marines. Hauptmann was given two choices, either go through the horrible process of resocialisation and be brainwashed into service or willingly join, Hauptman took the later. The Commander that Hauptmann was his father, Breaburn Price. The only time he ever talked to his father was a heated argument before his first mission. Breaburn was known for his "meat grinder" tactics and his general disregard for the cost of lives. Price became obsessed with the number 1 minute 30 seconds, the average lifespan of a conscripted marine on the front lines.

Price turned his 1 minute 30 seconds into over 17 years of service in the military. Price is almost constantly reassigned officers, so he never stays under one command for long. During his service he was assigned to spec ops units. These marines carried out high priority missions and usually are the first ones to be sent into a hostile zone.

Price and his squad have become accustomed to being out on missions for months at a time. As so they have become accustomed to "commandeering" equipment from fallen enemies. Price has almost constantly replaced parts on his gauss rifle, which is now heavily modified. Some of the modifications include silenced fire, a scope and laser pointer system taken from a rebellion heavy sniper rifle, and a bayonet. They bayonet is actually just one of his several combat knives fastened to the barrel of his weapon via duct tape, but it works just as well. Price's squad seems to always be the one getting "loaned out" to other commanders as a sign of good will to other factions. It pisses him off but he doesn't complain.

Price's 17 years of service have begun to catch up with him. One can almost describe him as a romantic warrior lost in a different time. Even though he has earned his freedom over 4 times over he refuses to retire. No-one under his command or those in charge of him can't understand why someone as old as him won't quit considering the massive casualties the ranks of the Terran marines. Those that actually ask him why get a simple response, "Once this was is over, and humanity can rest in peace without the threat of extinction looming over her shoulder, then I can rest."

FUN FACTS!!!

if you actually took the time to do the cross reference work, all the parts that make up Price's rifle were issued to different owners. His gun represents manufacturing from almost every major and minor Terran military force in the past 15 years

The only part of Price's original "Impaler Gauss Rifle" that was originally issued to him is the iron sight, all of the other parts have been replaced at one time or another
