Links Rules Galactic Archives Character profiles	Many years ago, the sentient species of the Milky Way were nearly wiped out by a foe known as the Raxan. This species was terrible and cruel, its overriding hive mind directing it towards one purpose: conquest of all. The Raxan were a race of beings with no kindness or compassion, as well as being incapable of feeling any kind of emotion at all. The Raxan were beaten back, however, and under threat of annihilation the Raxan agreed to never again take up arms, and were monitored closely to make sure they would honor their word. For over five hundred years, the Milky Way Galaxy enjoyed relative peace and prosperity under the Federation of Planets. The galaxy was seemingly on its way towards Utopia, a new golden age of cooperation between races. However, that would not last. The Federation became bloated and corrupt. They mishandled many catastrophes, wronging several species that were considered to be minor in the galactic stage. Their mangled policies and crippling red tape led towards a violent uprising by a group known as the Rebellion. EIn addition, the Raxan seemed to be with them. The Rebellion "liberated" the surrounding planets and it appears that they had established an alliance with the Raxan. With the ultimate warrior race on their side, the Rebellion is a threat the Federation can no longer ignore. The galaxy is tearing apart at the seams. Administrator Posts: 307 Group: Co-owner Member #1 Joined: August 20, 2006	Anthropsi- Pronounced like an-throw-sigh, this is a term for one of the most common race hybrids, a Psyclo/Human. Notable because they arise suspiciously easily. Bio- A term for wholly organic life forms as opposed to cyborgs. Sometimes used pejoratively by cyborgs. PDM- Short for "Personal Data Manager". Part cell phone, part PDA, this device can store data, play games, contact people with text or voice, send files, play movies, analyze the surrounding area, function as a GPS (only on a galactic scale), or numerous other tasks. Think of it as the inevitable fusion of today's innumerable handheld devices. Fed- A person loyal to the Milky Way Federation Fleshbag- See Bio Greenball- A greenball can and perhaps does support life, but has yet to produce a sentient rank advanced enough to join the Federation. Like the term rockball, it's a slang term that no real scientist will use. See rockball Grey- A race of aliens said to have come to Earth in the 20th and 21st centuries. Due to their similar appearance and their fleet of disk-shaped craft, the Psyclo are often blamed for the sightings, but this has been denied by their leading biologists. Hovercar- A flying car meant for travel on the surface of the planet, but incapable of going faster than light. It's smaller than ships and uses less fuel (even though it isn't really an issue in this society, it's still nice to know) Humanoid- A classification of extraterrestrials. "Humanoid" refers to an extraterrestrial that has a vaguely upright posture, a head near the top of the body, and at least two arms ending in hands. The definition is not an exact one by any means and is not exactly scientific. The difference between a humanoid and non-humanoid is more subjective than anything, similar to the difference between a pond and a lake. The term is considered politically incorrect by some, and many prefer the term "Antropoid". Peace lillons- Named for the Telkazor creature that cannot and will not fight back against predators, these guys oppose the war between the Federation and Rebellion. Considered derogatory by most but a few take it to be a symbol of pride. Psionics- Any and all powers related to psychic or magical abilities. "Psiology" is the study of psionics. Race (extraterrestrial)- A species of alien. "Race" is considered unscientific, however the term persisted and eventually even scientists decided to embrace it as an alternate definition, occasionally with the explanation that this is not the traditional definition.
