Many years ago, the sentient species of the Milky Way were nearly wiped out by a foe known as the Raxan. This species was terrible and cruel, its overriding hive mind directing it towards one purpose: conquest of all. The Raxan were a race of beings with no kindness or compassion, as well as being incapable of feeling any kind of emotion at all. The Raxan were beaten back, however, and under threat of annihilation the Raxan agreed to never again take up arms, and were monitored closely to make sure they would honor their word.

For over five hundred years, the Milky Way Galaxy enjoyed relative peace and prosperity under the Federation of Planets. The galaxy was seemingly on its way towards Utopia, a new golden age of cooperation between races.

However, that would not last.

The Federation became bloated and corrupt. They mishandled many catastrophes, wronging several species that were considered to be minor in the galactic stage. Their mangled policies and crippling red tape led towards a violent uprising by a group known as the Rebellion. EIn addition, the Raxan seemed to be with them. The Rebellion "liberated" the surrounding planets and it appears that they had established an alliance with the Raxan. With the ultimate warrior race on their side, the Rebellion is a threat the Federation can no longer ignore. The galaxy is tearing apart at the seams. Will you fight for peace and stability or do you sympathize with the Rebellion's cause?

It was supposed to be a Planet where the Human Race could have gone to escape...

It came from nowhere. The move. Thousands upon thousands flocking to a remote planet, so very far from home. I was one of them, I had to be, it was for my research- or so the facility said. I was to report back every five years, telling them what was happening, letting them know of evolutionary changes to the homo sapiens. When the crowds gathered into the cramped conditions aboard the crafts, haggling off their possessions, waving to loved ones, smuggling others on; I knew that none of them had a clue what was going to happen. It would take us two years to reach the planet, and then it would take another few days to unload all the passengers, and then weeks, maybe even months to relocate them to a home. Personally, I’ve been against this entire plan from the start. Whoever thought it up was obviously an idiot. Well, I’d better get aboard, even though nobody would miss me if I didn’t get aboard.

Supposed to be safe, free from harm, out of dangers grip...

We arrived a few hours ago. The planet is awfully quiet. There’s not much life here, the odd plant and specimen seen lolloping by the command centre. Nothing else. The atmosphere itself is much the same as Earth’s, except greyer, more moist. There’s a queue from the command centre through corridors, stretching back into the craft we arrived in. Trying to relocate humans into houses is not as easy as it first seemed, apparently- even on a desolate planet such as May V. I’m two-thousand-and-first in the line, and moving no where. Let’s hope I don’t die before I reach the beginning of the queue.

But this planet has a dark secret of it's own...

I’m being taken to my new home, on the other side of the planet. The machines taking me are just cars, nothing more. It seems that the planetary movement is one thing, getting new forms of transport is another hill the scientists of Earth 2 will have to overcome. The landscape isn’t that different to outside the command centre. We’ve passed a few houses- big bubble things, hardly Earth-like. It’s raining, the water splashing onto the sides of the vehicle, almost shimmering green. I wonder what else new I will be discovering for the facility…. Wait… what’s that? There’s a shadow… I saw it. No, I’m sure of it. Excuse me sir, is that normal?

No, wait, it can’t be--

...and it’s not long before it’s discovered.
