Hey i'm getting some shitty ass FPS in my mohaas game. I have all video settings at their lowest. Wondering wut you guys would recommend doing, ranging from new hardware to some simple changes that can be made to up FPS in games.

Although i'm not dishing out a whole lotta of cash because this comp is fairly old.
As for hardware i'm sure you'd like to know it's a compaq, pentium III, and 256 of RAM, has Microsoft ME. Also i'm hoping not to have to get a new powersupply as well so that excludes the expensive high end video cards.
I miss 100% of the time, unless I hit.

You might want to get 512 ram in the computer. alot of games now days + other things needs 512 ram for the computer to run good and not crash.

Actually, you don't have to get new RAM, just get a decent video card. Pentium 3 and the RAM you have is fine, but checking out stuff online should get you some nice results.

I recommend 64MB DDR or 128MB DDR video cards, PCI or AGP. basically any 64MB or 128MB video card should od you fine since mohaas is a fairly old game. I'd personally go for 128MB.

OK, so I'm looking into a new video card, here is my problem.

In a year and a half i'm going to graduate from high school and my parents will buy me a new computer. I'm assuming by then computers will be coming with PCI-Express or have a new interface.

I would like a nice video card now, althought I don't know if I should bother considering I would be getting a new comp. If I buy one now it would be PCI, thus pointless with the new comp. Then again it would be a year and half with it thus be worth it.

So I was thinking on getting the ATI Radeon 9250 PCI now, for the current comp ($80)

and then with the new comp browse the options.

You guys think it's worth it?
