Honours will be created awarding people for exceptional achievements on their field, or in their general life. There will be several awards available, and several of each will be available each year, depending on who deserves them: CAA - Charitable Acts Award. This will be given to people who have devoted their life to helping other people, with no thought of any benefit for themselves. NHA - National Hero Award. Given to people who have made exceptional acts of bravery. AFA - Advancements of Field Award. Given to people whose work has stood out from other people in their field. This will include such things as major scientific breakthroguhs, as well as such areas as services to entertainment. Also, every year a representative from those who have received one of these that year will be elected. This person will be one who is considered a suitable representative of the citizens of Democratia. This will be a voluntary thing, with people choosing whether to stand or not. The elected person will act as an ambassador for the country, going on diplomatic tours to enhance Democratia's reputation. These diplomatic trips will be funded from a lottery, either an existing one or a specially created one. |

Hmmm... I think I'll allow this bill to go through, but it will not have any effect on the simulation's workings (meaning that I'm not creating a House of Lords or a similar body). Honours will be given to imaginary people. |

I wasn't expecting it to have any major effect, just something I felt like creating. |

What's wrong with recognising achievement? After all, they won't be given power, land, serfs etc.

I knew it! Seriously, we all know these types of things go to popular footballers and pop stars rather than worthy warriors like days of old. 'Tis a sad state of affairs.....You wouldn't see David Beckham adorned in armour fighting a peasants revolt |
