I think it would be a good idea, if farmers are only allowed 20 acres of land, to organise some sort of collective, so that certain things, like combine harvesters, are shared, allowing farmers to actually make a profit.

Collectivisation didn't work in soviet russia, why should it work here?

I'm not saying it's collectivisation - farmers will still own their own land. What I'm saying is that as all farmers own virtually no land, it makes sense to form groups to share some things, to decrease costs, as having a combine harvester for every 20 acres is pretty pointless.

Anyways, this bill wants to nationalise all primary industries... so I'm opposing it, and I advise others to do the same. After all, a government's job is to pass laws etc., not to try to run every aspect of people's lives.

^ no a governments job is to create and maintain a healthy nation, in every respect of the phrase...

if it chooses to do this by controlling the nation and it works then they are doing their job ^_^

And if it fails then the situation is made even worse... <_<

Nationalising industry takes away people's freedoms. This government seems determined to crush private enterprise... :(

I'm afraid I'll have to refuse to support this. Having virtually all primary industries controlled by the government will make the economy slow to change, and will decrease competition. The obvious result will be what happened in the USSR.

2) Quarrying, Forestry and mining to be nationalised, thus centralising the market and controlling the amount of land quarried/forrested/mined. Areas that have reached their capacity output, shall be replanted with trees and the like. Funding from the current "Super Tax" on the stupidly rich.

Out of interest, how are you supposed to replant rock that's been quarried out?

You plant trees in the big hole. Its what quarrying companies do at the moment in britain
