This is the parliamentary question time for questions to the Department of the Environment.

Members of the Commons may question the government on its environmental policy. Each member is limited to one question per week.

This House recognises Cieran as the Environment Secretary, and as such invites him to answer questions on behalf of the government. This House also recognises Phantom Pheonix as the Minister for Food and Rural Affairs, and as such invites her to answer questions related to her portfolio. Other ministers may answer in their place though.

This House recognises Boohistory as the Leader of the Opposition, and as such grants her the right to ask four questions per week.

This House recognises Pokemaniac John as the Birthday Party Environment and Rural Affairs Spokesman and as such grants him the right to ask three questions per week.

The government may only be asked to answer one question at a time - no new questions may be submitted until the previous one has been answered. If the government does not answer, action may be taken by the speaker of the commons.

I therefore open this session with the following question:

Will the government please outline to this house its environmental policy?

Well, really, what's wrong with nuclear power? It has far less carbon emmisions than Coal or Oil powered plants, and so would reduce the effect of global warming. We understand that there is much protest to this, but would you rather have a hot, smoke filled, barely livable world, or the mere threat of a nuclear meltdown, which are very rare and can easily be avoided with proper monitoring. We believe that, for the short term at least, nuclear power may be the way forward. As well as this we hope to invest more in renewable energy, and naturally there may be a slight tax increase to fund this. Still, we believe that a non-aggresive nuclear policy is the way forward. Well, i do anyway ...

What are the governments views on logging?

Did CC0 open up the floor? Anyway, it doesn't matter, we believe that logging shall only be practiced in sustainable forests, and using the most economical and ecological methods possible...

Well for the one part as mentioned in the transport section we plan to cut down on people using road travel, and to rely more on public transport. We also plan to invest further in a nuclear propgram than in old coal, oil or gas fired power stations...

I say we just put a load of wind turbines out at the atalntic ocean! Nobody to complain saying there hidous and noicey, unless fish and other aquatic creature learn to speak, but I expect they'd still just be cut up into food..
anyway abck on topic! why don't they do this? loads of wind so lots of energy! though it would cost alot, having the cables getting to mainland, as putting in the water will just result in them getting chewed up!

Where will all the money for all these environment plans come from?

(Note: I realised while writing this that it may seem to be trying to catch the government out regarding taxes. That would be wrong - I am merely interested as to how this large schemes will be paid for)

Order, order!

Garth, you are not a government minister! You may not answer questions!

I suggest that a real member of the government answers both Pokemaniac John's and Miniyoda008's questions in one go.

Well we plan to divert funds currentley being used for coal, oil and gas stations. However, we have no plans to build wind turbines, at sea or not, they're too expensive and the enegry requiered to assemble one is almost as great as the energy returned, so you're only actually generating a tiny ammount of power. Nuclear however will have more funds diverted to it, as will wave and todal, and perhaps solar for heating water, rather than power generation. That's pretty much our entire policy, redistribution of funds :P...

How will the Uranium required for Nuclear Power be produced in a way which is both economically viable and protective of our nations interests against foreign threats?

How do you plan to access this uranium without causing huge environmental damage in the process?
