I move that a survey of all the peoples of Ostentia be carried out in order to find out basic details about the peoples of the nation. Data collected in this way will not be passed on - nor will the data for individuals be stored - all analysis will be accumulative. Such data will also be made available to all Ostentian residents. I am not sure exactly what this survey should include, and am as such open to suggestions. I have, however, compiled a list of essentials: -The actual total population (apparently we dont know this) -The distribution of the population -The age and sex structure of the population (and distributions) -The proportion of people in full time education -The distribution of wealth and income -Which areas specialise in what products -The average family size, and thus the fertility rate This data will be made available upon request to all who ask. |

Hmmm... not exactly what I would call legislation... *moved to debates* It is up to the government to comission surveys, however you could make a statement motion along the lines of "I move that this house state its support for the idea of a national survey and requests that the government carry one out immediately." |

A better idea would be to instute legislation for a compulsory census and then open a focus group over the contents |

okay, but we still need to establish what will be in that census - same goes for HRH's idea... p.s. i was originally planning on mutating this into a piece of legislation after it had been decided what would be on it
