Having finally resolved various legal issues following the fall of Democratia, The Occasional Lampshade has finally transferred to Ostentia, and is ready to bring you all the news you need (or at least all the news we can be bothered to give you). In our first issue, we bring you an analysis of this month's elections, as the voting moves into the second day. The F&V=P PartyTM is in a commanding lead, following a collobaroation of all parties against the Boo Party, and is expected to get into office with a comfortable majority. We interviewed respected The F&V=P PartyTM member, Miniyoda008, who last term was the Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer, as well as Shadow Minister for Health. Occasional Lampshade: So minister, things appear to be going well for you at the moment. How do you expect the voting to go in the remaining time? Miniyoda008: Well, it is too early to call, but the evidence appears to suggest that we should be successful. However, the possibility of Boo party members dragging in inactive members to win the election, and then spending another term doing nothing, should never be ruled out. OL: On that point, minister, what are your views on the Boo Party's activities, both in getting into power, and throughout their term. M: The way they got into power was absolutely disgraceful. If they feel they need to bring in extra people to get into power, then clearly they do not have the support of the people, and should just accept the fact. Also, once in power, they took no advantage of the opportunity given to them, proposing just 3 bills throughout their term, and needing an MP from another party to move one of them. Our country is very new, and it needs an active government to ensure its future. OL: What do you intend to do about that if you get into power? M: We intend to actually do much more work in fulfilling our manifesto, as well as working to ensure the same standards in all parts of the country. Ostentia needs a government which knows what it wants, and we are that party. OL: Thank you for your time, minister. Of course, politics is not just about the politicians - it is also about the people. We conducted a poll among the people of Democratia, and discovered that only 0.1% of the people want Boo to remain in government, with 99.2% wanting a The F&V=P PartyTM government, and the remaining 0.7% wanting Elvis as King. To conclude this issue, it is clear what the people want, and what should be done to achieve this. Please the people, and vote The F&V=P PartyTM. Thank you |

Could I please note that HRH moving that bill was simply because he got there first? I was planning to move that, as Inevitable said, but HRH got there first. I would also like you to note that Ostentia seems to not have a direct democracy; indeed in the UK only about 40% of people are politically active. Also you'll note maybe that member Phantom*Phoenix is now online, I didn't bring her here, she came here of her own accord. She may not even vote... |

Yes, I know, but you moved it when I wasn't online, before I could get on and do it myself -_-... EDIT: And just an FYI, I'm currently urging P*P NOT to vote. Just to prove that...well, I'm just not gonna call in the external assistance this time... |

When HRH moved the bill, it had been sitting there for ages, and you only narrowly avoided the crisis that would ahve resulted if it hadn't been moved that evening. A decent government would have moved it ages before to make sure there was no possibility of a crisis. Also, what do you mean by: 'Ostentia seems to not have a direct democracy'? And no, those legal issues weren't to do with Pokemaniac JohnTM - you'd fled over here. My paper was taken to court in a private case, over allegedly being 'liberal with the truth'. I was of course eventually acquitted. |

Pokemaniac JohnTM trademarked his newspaper and his party, so I decided to trademark his name for him. |

When you joined the forums, you agreed to let me use anything you post here for any purpose, so all your trade marking is futile.

Hm, interesting that HRH now owns the rights to the House of Boredds. Where is that anyway? As for the comment of direct democracy, I was going somewhere with that...I can't remember where though. It was a good argument though... |

*slams on brakes* Wait... you're basically claiming inadequacy of the Boo Party right? Interesting... especially as it now seems our new government elects people who don't even know what this country is called. AND makes them the Finance Minister. Tell me, where's Ostentia's money going? |

The poll was to show how our party is so popular that even people in other countries want us in power. A poll in Ostentia was not necessary, as the result was far too obvious. |
