Having previously used a legendary island of diamonds to justify expenditure on exploration, the foreign secretary today confessed that he had heard the rumours in a pub, probably from a drunkard who was completely out of his mind.

This has raised speculation as to the justification behind other government decisions, and a government that once seemed to have no flaws has suddenly revealed a gaping hole in their decision making process.

Other government officials have yet to comment on the matter.

I entirely approve of HRH's actions. Going out and speaking to ordinary people is vital to increasing and consolidating our knowledge - after all there are many more ordinary people than MPs. While some information may be incorrect, it at least enables us to understand what people think, and all correct information is useful. And after all, there is no evidence that this island of diamonds doesn't exist.

Indeed.

A government must be bound to the wishes of it's people and not the politicians
