Early this morning, Professer Timothy Smidgings of the University of Apeiron, in Boondoxia, published a scientific journal proving that it was a scientific impossibility for any island to be composed of greater than 0.31% diamonds, correct to within 0.02%. We asked why he chose to do research into this, and he replied: "Well, when I heard the rumours of this so called island of diamonds that have been going around recently, I decided to test just how much diamond this island could actually be. I carried out a series of complex experiments, putting in between me, my collegues and a handful of postgrads almost 800 hours of work into the matter." When asked what he thought of the claims in the latest edition of the exilian echo, he replied that he didnt know what they were, as he had been working too hard to bother with the press. We then reported the claim of an island made 50% of diamonds. "Nonsense!" was the immediate reply, "and everyone with the slightest bit of intelligence should know that to be the case." So what did he think was the source of the article? "Most likely the figures have been misinterpreted," he replied, "this sort of thing can happen, especially with the lower press, like the exilian echo. Of course, theres always the possibility that these figures were deliberatly distorted, either as Exilian propaganda, or simply to back up that Zog guy's proposterous claims that such an island might indeed exist." So he isnt a supporter of the current government then? "Oh no, I've voted boo all my life. Loyal supporter of that great party..." In other political news, both the major political parties were celebrating yesterday following the guillotining of the Rail Network private member bill for the second parliamentary session in a row. A new bill has been proposed to amend this bill, in the hopes that it will never be put to vote again. |

The claim of said island being 50% diamonds was directly made by the explorers who did not have degrees in geology or much experience in diamonds. However the island still represents the largest diamond find to date. |

Two points: 1. How can you say The Exilian Echo is "lower press" when the editor of this newspaper can't even spell or use proper grammar? 2. How can he have voted Boo all his life if the Boo Party only recently arrived in Ostentia? Is he Democratian? |

Terribly sorry. It would seem I misread the title. I read "scientific impossibility" as "scientific impossible". There is a very minor mistake still - "exilian propaganda" should be "Exilian propaganda". |

I'm confused. I'm sure AE said that the Boo party had a traditional standing in Boondoxia... |

I did. The Boo Party or its ancestors have existed in the pre-Ostentian Boondoxian governement for several centuries now. It is mere coincidence that Democratia had one which was almost alike in every way. |

You made that up! How can we trust anything you say when you do something like that? Indeed, how can we even be sure that Professor Timothy Smidgings even exists? |
