The regional government of the Northern Isles is tonight reeling after the area was hit by the strongest storm on record. Although relatively few people were killed or injured, the islands' infrastructure has all but collapsed. Despite the regional government's intial optimism, the emergency services are struggling to cope with the scale of the disaster. Many areas have been left without power and there are fears that the water supply for some areas may have been polluted. The national government has tonight set aside funds for the regional government to cope with the immediate aftermath, but the true cost of rebuilding is unlikely to be clear for some time. |

Well this is...advantageous. Obviously it's a tradgedy, but one of our key points in our manifesto, or at least in my opinion, is to increase infrastructure links with the Northern Isles. I feel that my bill I shall be proposing next term will help to remedy this. It just needs some fine tuning before being voted upon... |
