The Oredian Assembly has tonight passed legislation declaring it illegal for any Oredian-based industry to be brought under the control of the national government. The bill was proposed by the ruling Democrat/Royalist Coalition, and supported by the opposition Seperatist Party, which has ties with the Seperatist Party in the Northern Isles. The Governor of Oredia defended these actions, claiming that "the proposal to take an Oredian industry, especially a mining industry, and bring it under the control of jumped-up politicians in Epiphany displays an incredible ignorance of Oredian history and culture." The King of Oredia has not yet commented. Although any nationalisation bill passed by the House of Commons would automatically override regional legislation, questions are raised as to whether the government can afford to antagonise another regional government: the slow response to the Northern Isles disaster is still having damaging effects for the government: the minority regional government (F&V=P Party) is tonight facing a vote of no confidence in the regional assembly, which it is expected to lose unless the regional Boo party supports it. Opinion polls suggest that, in the event of a defeat, the governor of the Northern Isles would have no choice but to resign and the Seperatist Party would take power. |

I know! Lets pass counter legislation that outlaws the deliberate non-usage strategic materials such as metals by a private company on economic grounds. |

As I was aware the government wasn't trying to buy out the company, just the mines... |

I doubt it. The last time he commented on a contraversial issue, the Oredian govenment collapsed. |
