Aspar has withdrawn its forces from Nellapaland, following a demand from the Nellapalese government. Nellapland had stated that unless they recieved word from Aspar that it was prepared to withdraw its armed forces by 7pm, then war would be declared. Aspar did comply with the demand, but only just: the message to Nellpaland was not sent until 6:55pm. The Nellapalese government is now fully in control of its territories. Aspar remains defiant though, with the government stating "that the actions were necessary for national security. Should a similar circumstance arise, we would be fully prepared to occupy the territories again". The government here in Ostentia has come under heavy criticism for its handling of the crisis, with parliament tonight condeming Aspar for its actions. However, as the crisis has resolved itself, the government is believed to have escaped largely unscathed. |

See? Did we not say it really was security issues? But no, you didn't believe us. And yet people still critisise our "handling of the crisis"? It's another country. Far away. We communicated with them, specifcally informing them of how the future could pan out. We have always believed it wasn't an invasion and we were right. If we had condemned them, I wonder how our newly forged friendship with Aspar would have held together. No, we did the right thing, and though I hate to sound so cliche, we told you so. |

Excuse me, but where is the evidence that it was just "security issues", apart from what the Asparians say, which is hardly conclusive proof |

If it was an invasion, why did they retreat when the condition of the nation was fixed? |

Because Nellapaland were going to declare war on them, and other countries might have joined them |

So, returning to another of my points, you would have rather we condemned there actions (the government that is, not the house... or however it's defined), thereby risking the break down of internation relations with Aspar? Our way resulted in endangering nothing. I'm glad you aren't the Shadow Foreign Secretary, that's all I say. EDIT: *Has just seen what the actual one has done.* Maybe not. |

Yes. Although Aspar did eventually back down, there was no guarantee that they would, and an unjustifiable invasion is something everyone should condemn. |
