The constitution has tonight been ammended following the passing of the Government Finance Act, which grants the government more control over public spending. The news has generally been greeted with approval, both within the political establishment and among the public, although a sizable minority of those questioned said that they were wary of the government increasing its control. The bill was proposed by the Speaker of the Commons and recieved unanimous support in the House of Commons.
