It turns out portal only comes as part of the orange box set, and can't be bought seperately. I want the game, but it's not worth paying for 5 games when I just want one - especially considering that I won't be able to play them for most of 2008/9.

Er...you can buy it separately 0_o. It costs £10, just download it through Steam. Although you may as well get the whole box, it's only £10 more...

I want it for XBox 360. There's no way my computer would be able to run it.

Ohh right. Well then yeah, it is a LOT more expensive.

Although the system requirements arn't that high, provided you don't have an Intel graphics card, which any software more recent than HL2E1 has problems with. All the computers in my house are Intel >_<. But anyway, check it out on System Requirements Lab to see if you can run it...

There's no way I will be able to run it. My PC's graphics card is awful. Minesweeper has been able to crash it! Also, even though my PC's relatively new, they apparently don't make graphics cards for it anymore, so I've no hope of upgrading.

Why not get the whole Orange Box?

TF2 is brilliant. One of the best multiplayer games out there.

The Half Life series speaks for itself.

Because it costs £50 on the Xbox and he doesn't want to play the other games...

Used and new from £27.43 on Amazon, straight from them it's £35.

More interestingly, when you type "Portal" into www.kelkoo.co.uk, this is one of the results: http://shopping.kelkoo.co.uk/ctl/go/sitese...fa97a0cc6c6&orw

That, and I'll be going to uni after summer and I won't be able to take the Xbox360 with me.

Why not? It's not particularly bulky or anything...

If you don't want to buy the whole Orange Box, I'm sure you know somebody else who has it. Why not borrow their copy?

Well my point about borrowing it still stands. In fact, when you get to uni there will probably be dozens of people with the game and a medium to play it on. So long as it's not a PS3 (This is not fanboyism, the PS3 version is actually disgraceful) I'm sure you'll be fine.

Nobody was accusing you of fanboyism, and I'd hasten to bet that most people here are in fact Ninty fanboy freaks.

I own a PS2 only so I could play Pro Evo, and because one of my friends accidentally won 2 on eBay and needed to get rid of the other one to his only friend who didn't have one...

Nintendo ftw...

You make me sick. For owning both products I might add.
