In a shock move that looks certain to shake up Ostentian politics, Ten Thousand Fists, the candidate for the LMIATPEFO Party, has managed to beat both of the mainstream political parties to become the next prime minister of Ostentia. The election of a new party to office seems to have boosted trust in the political system, although the government is likely to be less popular and much weaker than the previous one. A cabinet is expected to be announced tomorrow. To add to the political chaos, the Boo Party and the F&V=P Party both recieved the same proportion of votes. No official plans have been mentioned yet, but a leaked memo from the Speaker's office suggests that neither Pokemaniac John or Inevitable will be made leader of the opposition, but both will have powers inside the house of commons. This rapid and sudden shift of public opinion shown by the election result has obviously had an impact on the approval ratings, with the Boo Party once again plunged into crisis. However, experts predict that it is the F&V=P Party that will suffer in the months to come, as voters appear to have forgotten the party's achievments from the last time it was in government. Experts have also suggested that the parties' key issues have changed: the Boo Party has developed a reputation for Transport policies, while the F&V=P Party is now known for foreign affairs. As the LMIATPEFO is a new party, it is not currently associated with any particular issue, giving it both an advantage and a disadvantage. In other news, voters in the Northen Isles are tonight voting in a second referedum on independance, after last months' inconclusive result. The results will be announced tomorrow. |

You've decreased the chances of it being a pro-independance result - but it's still possible. *gets 2p coin ready to flip* |

Any changes that were made in the party ratings scores during the term before last (the one when F&V=P party were in power) have been reversed. This has happened to both the F&V=P Party and the Boo Party. However, because the Boo Party did next to nothing during that term and the F&V=P Party did a lot, the effect on the F&V=P Party's ratings has been much more dramatic. |
