People of Ostentia, Following the victory of the ODP in the elections I have tonight accepted Our goals for this, our first term in government, are twofold. Firstly, we shall take Ostentia to new heights. By implementing our manifesto promises and sticking to our core values, I am confident that we will be able to continue to improve the lives of ordinary Ostentians. This is our main priority, and we will not ignore it. Secondly, we shall create a new politics for Ostentia. Already, we have seen a shift in the way politics is carried out in country. It is no coincidence that the two parties which faced each other in the run off election, were the two parties that published detailed manifestos. Politics is becoming increasingly about policies, not personalities. The time of despotic political parties and rule by faction is coming to an end. I will soon be announcing wide-ranging reforms of the way the ODP is run, unprecedented in the history of Ostentian politics. Yes, the era of new politics is upon us, and the ODP will lead the way. There are many challenges ahead of us. We have a majority of -79, which is hardly ideal. Indeed, the last government to be in this position fell after only a week. However, fear of opposition will not frighten us into inactivity. Yes, there may be defeats ahead, but for as long as we are able to do so, we will continue to implement the policies which you, the people, have given us a mandate to do. We will not abandon you. Thank you for listening. Good night.

It was a well fought campaign by a party dedicated to electoral fairness unlike certain other ones... Bravo to you. |
