Ah, I'm on XP SP3, so I had to find it on the interweb somewhere :).

I think you might be right about the EULA, there was a second version posted up as an actual exe I believe.

I think someone should close this thread, as someone has just made a very, very late vote.

Under some logic Jack was considering (but later abandoned due to pressure) on HS, I'd have to be Prime Minister now :P...

To quote some tyrannical dictator whose name escapes me...

"You won the vote, but I won the count"

George Bush? Al Gore won the popular vote in 2000, but democracy wasn't working too well that year so Bush got it and now we're all screwed...

Well that's the electoral college system for you. Really, in a single winner election it should just be done by popular vote.

EDIT: Although of course, you've got to remember, Al Gore was an idiot back then too.

I don't think so, he was far and away the better choice. I've never really seen him as an idiot...

Aside for his being on the Apple board of directors...

Here's a quote from his 2000 election campaign:

"Yes, we've made mistakes in the past... but by God, we're the greatest country on the face of this Earth - we always have been, we always will be!"

It wasn't until after his defeat that he had his "road to damascus" moment and become pro-environmental etc.

Gore is a hypocritical idiot. To plead his environmental case, but then own an inordinate amount of SUV's, fly to everywhere (in before: 'as if he can drive' - the train network in the USA is reportedly fantastic, and much more energy efficient than flying, especially if you're using electric trains on the west coast, large amounts of hydro power there).

His figures were incredibly off and have been discredited by a large amount of scientists. The whole global warming thing appears to be running off the rails imho, seeing much less of it these days and more scientists are going on the (god forbid!) 'deniers' side. Personally, I'm a man-made global warming skeptic and I believe I have sound reasons for this, but perhaps this is for another day, another topic and another subforum.

I just hate Gore.

Edit: Why do other nations media care so much about the USA elections? I see a large coverage of it on Australian news, yet it is utterly irrelevant to us. Despite one awful news source (News Corp / Fox / naturally American Australian news source - http://www.news.com.au, put on your skepticism hat before going there because it is all lies) thinking we are the 51st state.

You're right, Australia definitely isn't the 51st State. Britain is.

And while the rail network in America may be good in some areas, long-distance services across the country are not very good, mostly because it's a lot quicker by air.

But you're making that comparison on events that have happened since. I don't think there's any reason to believe that the war on terror would have developed differently had Gore been in charge. You can't make judgements on the 2000 election based upon events which happened later.

Personally though I think they should have gone for Dan Quayle. :)

I support this claim and I hardly know who Al Gore is.

I highly doubt Gore would have started a War on Terror. The Democrats, although voting to authorise Iraq (due to Bush's lies I might add, which few people have twigged is actually an impeachable offense), are still generally non-interventionist. While 9/11 would in all probability still have happened, the aftermath would most assuredly be very different...
