We have things to do, but no way to do them. I have heaps of bills I can propose...

Am I allowed to vote or not?

I can never remember - NB it is a tie, and any votes other than my potential own after this time will not count.

I recall the speaker has cast deciding votes before... vaguely...

It hasn't happened since TTF took charge. But to be honest I don't think that there is anything specifically banning it.

However, one thing I'm fairly sure you are not allowed to do is say "any votes other than my potential own after this time will not count".

If noone else's votes count, then yours shouldn't either.

edit: I think that CC0, when voting, used to always do so immediately after moving the bill.

Ties don't matter if it's a bill before parliament, and an admin shouldn't deliberately vote to prevent them.

I only ever held my vote in reserve for general elections - but that of course eventually led to a certain losing party kicking up a fuss and fatally undermining my adminship.

I think it's more that the speaker hasn't voted since the text-based systems came in...

I see the point, I was trying to say that if I had realised I had the potential to vote beforehand then I would have done, in easy time.

Technically I would have closed the voting before the last "Nay!" if I wasn't stuck in the library, exactly 24 hours after, but what can you do?

I won't vote, purely because it'd be fussed over.

Voting over! Here are the results:

Aye: x
No: x

(where x is the same, because I can't be bothered.)

Returned!

The main reason I have not voted in parliamentary debates since becoming speaker is because now they are a public vote. I have enough trouble trying to stay neutral without giving you ammunition ;)
