The Lord Glod
While the Deathpits lost the most in terms of population, the Wyrdpits received the most drastic change. Having been the direct target of the Chosen of Tzeentch, these pits now writhe with the aftermath of the Chaotic invasion. Strange, keening cries may be heard, walls and tunnels appear and disappear of their own accord, blood is seen flowing from the walls, and much more. Wild speculation remains as to what causes this, though the most commonly believed theory is that it is a byproduct of the powerful spells unleashed during the invasion. An aura of corruption is palpable in the Wyrdpits, and seem to act as a catalyst, causing mutations to occur with far greater frequency and accuracy. Of course, there is always the odd accident where things don’t go as planned. Coincidentally, the Wyrdpits have more accidental Chaos Spawn than any other area in Hell Pit.
The small area of the Wyrdpits which turned into the short-lived dwarf area of Hell Pit were decimated in the carnage of the attack. However the vestiges of The Grotto lives on, no longer a structured set of dwarf mines and smiths, but a small area of Hell Pit almost entirely occupied by non-Skaven Moulders. Many lesser-race Moulders find that the additional protection offered in this area is well worth the contamination risk of living in the Wyrdpits.
Moulders of Note
Rath - Pit Lord of Wyrdpits and Lord of the 4th Circle of Hell Pit:
A moulder from the early Recessive Age, Rath distinguished himself in the use of technology, in which he matched anything Clan Skryre could produce. He was one of two moulders who led the defence of Hell Pit in the Chaos Invasion, and as a reward for pulling through, he was granted Lordship of both the Fourth Circle of Hell Pit, and the Wyrdpits in which he’d made a name for himself.
Snivekk the Flesh - Administrator of Laboratories:
Snivekk the Flesh was appointed as the leader of the Wyrdpits by Verminkin before the pits were officially opened. After Rath's ascension to power he found himself at a loose end, he was eventually hired as the administrator of the Laboratories complex in the Wyrdpits. He is very unlike the other Moulders in the Wyrdpits in that he is both an active schemer and pitfighter, and a terribly efficient administrator. That said, he has a terrible addiction to sex and has a ready supply of breeders in his lab.
His status fits his name, as he is rarely seen even leaving his lab. His lab is as renowned as he is, for it seems utterly impregnable, with any prying too deeply either vanishing, or reappearing outside the gates in a daze hours after entry, stripped of their memory of what occurred inside. Widespread rumours paint Enigma as a dark sorcerer, yet so far his beasts had displayed nothing unusual, aside from above average intelligence and strength.
Kratchett was a former inhabitant of the Inner Domain, cast out by the Packlord for unknown reasons. However, he was permitted to stay in Hell Pit, and lives as a disgraced Moulder near the bottom of the Wyrdpits, keeping mostly to himself. Strange sounds, not quite gasp and not quite scream, frequently are heard coming from his lab during all hours of the day...
Ritzikk is a certifiably insane Skaven who has extensively mutated and experimented on himself. A master of alchemy, his blood is now more potion than blood, and has granted him super speed and strength. He has also fused his body with that of a giant octopus, so that it appears that he wears a skirt of tentacles wherever he goes. He always appears naked, and he frequently enters himself in tournaments.
Evik's research is funded completely by The Spirit's Palace, yet he has never received an invitation to the Inner Domain. He is reputedly a genius, and has made many breakthroughs in the art of Mouldering. His beasts are seamless and sometimes appear to hardly even be mutated at all.
An eccentric Moulder by all counts, Antarakk lives in the past, as he believes that Ravvitch is the current Packlord and that Pitfighting has not yet fully developed. As such, his beasts are not very well developed and tend to fall apart. He likes experimenting with powder, and is responsible for the deaths of dozens of Moulders when he mailed them all a white powder.
Warren is devout in his worship of the Horned One, offering up praise at all occasions and sacrificing creatures whenever possible. His beasts are created with "the guide of His hand", for each and every one of them is made purely by the use of warpstone shards. Warren is said to have a direct line to one of the main suppliers of warpstone in the area, buying shards in bulk in exchange for his services. Each of his beasts is incredibly unique.
Rikkitz is an unassuming moulder and member of the Wyrdpit Laboratories. He is known for his obsession with reproducing skryre-style technology using living creatures. His beasts often resemble organic machines, carcasses used like power armour, giant eels tuned and mutated to produce gouts of lightning as powerful as a warplightning cannon. It is unsurprising that he makes so much money from contracts with skaven warlords.
Lyeik is an aging rat, having been commentating matches since before the Recall in Ogrehold. After the end of the Golden Age, he was forced into retirement in a hovel on the outskirts of the Outskirts of Hell Pit. He was ecstatic to be brought back to prominence after Verminkin's appointment. The coming of Chaos and the eventually rise of the Spirit saw Lyeik re-entering the world of pitfighting to become an established moulder himself.
The Wyrdpit - Designed by the lunatic Rattus F. Snout, the Wyrdpit is a vision of horror and utter insanity. It is a large arena that has the appearance of a marshy area at first glance. When one looks at it more closely, however, it becomes apparent that it is no marsh. The trees are made of chocolate - some of which are poisoned. Silky candy litters the ground, and the pools of liquid scattered everywhere are either Warpstone, boiling water, freezing water, lava, acid, hallucinatory drugs, or any combination of the above. Strange horrors stalk the marsh, and what appears to be solid ground sometimes swallows beasts whole.
The Dirt - Built specifically to accommodate battles between beasts underground, this pit uses the latest in technology - generously donated by Clan Skryre in a strange moment of friendship with Clan Moulder - to allow the audience to view the battles between burrowing creatures while they are underground through use of a monitor that ignores the visual presence of dirt.
Bottomless Chasm - This arena is a giant pit with no known bottom. Seats are arranged a few paces back from the edge of the pit, and nets are placed over the seats. The arena is primarily used to host tournaments for flying creatures, but makeshift platforms are sometimes rigged for entertaining earth-based battles.
Mutagarena - This arena is infused with Warpstone, and instead of a sand floor, consists of a series of islands made from pure Warpstone, surrounded by a liquefied version of the same stone.
Pherotheatre - Thousands of plants fill this arena, their blossoms producing beautiful scents and filling the air with pollen. These plant pheromones can cause strange reactions to beasts wondering through the arena, making them seek out physical "engagements" with others. Many skaven have been known to try and bribe their way into the arena in order to take advantage of the heightened feelings of arousal offered by it.
