Nobody out Shifts the Shifty!

Fungus was beginning to grow around the periphery of the Goblins lab, large domed mushrooms would soon follow - all of no use bar perhaps eating, the infamous fleshroom appeared to follow the Goblin species wherever they went, its moistened carapace never far from sight nor mind. Trudging over the light morass of spongy splendor that was the floor, Shifty 'Ded Shifty' Goldgrabb made his way down to the bar, his trusty Minion, Brownhand, not to far behind. It didn't take to long to get down there, the myriad of tunnels and alleys that made up the subterranean mass that was Hell Pit, serving to accommodate the Goblins haste with ease, as he took many a shortcut to get to the Pub even faster.

After-all, what local doesn't know the quickest route to the pub? Entering through the side door for 'Green-Things' (alas another side effect of the Skaven-Centric Society in which Shifty found himself), he quickly headed up three flights of Stairs, down four and ended up on the second floor due to the hidden magic of pub science. 'Green Room' it said, in bold stenciled letters over the Door, and it was Green indeed. Dozens of Orcs in various states or rage or drunkeness (it was hard to tell which) could be seen helping themselves to hearty swigs of Alcohol or thumping each other in a manner that would shatter the bones of a lesser creature.

Zogging idiots, he laughed to himself. For a Goblin with any semblance of a Brain, it was easy to control Orcs - all you had to do was give them 'dakka, booze and a good fight' and the stupid Greenies would be at peace with themselves. Of course, there was always going to be the occasional Orc who thought he was in charge, in which case you just had to convince him that your ideas had in fact been his ideas, and you were golden.

Taking a seat at his usual table, Shifty allowed his attention to focus on the purpose for which he had come to the Green room in the first place - Gambling. The Wight in front of him would be his greatest hustle yet, his perfect scam! Offering his opponent a cursory nod, he took his seat. They exchange pleasantries, and he reached into his pocket to draw out his own perfectly stacked deck of cards.

It wasn't there.

Looking around the table, he decided to keep his cool - best not to drop his facade in front of the other players. His Wight opponent however, was far better at the Poker Face than Shifty was, probably because he was now dealing....with Shifties loaded deck. The Goblin tried not to look to flabbergasted as he remembered the diminutive and lusty Goblin waitress brushing past him upon his entrance, and realization sunk in. That sly wink, the flick of greasy hair, the discreet grin of shattered teef, it had all been a trick! No Greenskin Gal as good looking as her would be interested in Shifty!

Nobody out Shiftys Shifty! he cursed, as his own stacked deck was used to take away his money. Sure, Shifty would get it back through beating the ever living crap out of his other rivals with the help of Brownhand - but still, it stung....he....had been out Shiftied.
