Brimstones coming ashore at Budleigh Salterton, arriving on the wind today but not stopping for photos.

A pair of what looked to be Speckled Woods over a bramble patch beside one of the water meadows.

Last week I saw a Red Admiral sunning itself over at the garden centre.

Two Brimstones when out walking last Saturday and I have already seen five or six others at various times over the last few weeks. There seem to be lots of reports of Brimstones already on various forums so it looks like a great year might be in store for them.

More Commas around today ... unfortunately they decided to sunbathe on the roof of next door's bathroom. Like ours it's downstairs but a bit too far away for any photos.
