these were amongst the many penguins in a colony of both rockhoppers and black-browed Albatross at West Point, one of the Western Falkland Islands.

the Falkland Islands have many species of bird, though not all of the above can be found there - some were from South Georgia and the Antarctic peninsula (i.e. the continent mainland)

on the Falklands there were: Rockhoppers, Magellanic, King and Gentoo

Adelie penguins are primarily Antarctica (though there's many Gentoos here too)

On South Georgia there are many Kings, Macaroni, Chinstrap and Gentoo

the entire area is great for petrels and other tubenosed birds too!
