What sort of size population of King Penguins were there David?
in the Falklands the population was very small - we only saw two in Port Stanley; in South Georgia however they numbered in absolute thousands

we visited two King Penguin colonies and both had several thousand there including juveniles!

this photo may help to paint the picture ;)

me too Happyh ... those long eye brows :girlygiggle: I once had a Fairy ( little blue) penguin in my small rucksac :giggle: ............ but that's another story :cool:

just been told that the official number of King penguins in Gold Harbour where I took the above shot was 25,000 breeding pairs!

What a sight , David ..... so many places you'll return to one day ...... so many things to linger over which is not easy on a tight schedule

You carried a huge amount of tech. equipment .

What a nightmare it is these days when we go away . Not just a light weight tent but cameras , batteries and a charger . Phones , and a charger . LT/ipad etc , and a charger ...... drives you mad and you're over your weight before you've thought of a few bit of clothing :notfair: :giggle:

Great Photo's David. Falkland Islands brings back memory's I served there when I was in the RAF. The wildlife is amazing.
