sadly there was a green woodpecker about somewhere (I could hear it) but couldn't find it! also tried to get a pic of an orange-tipped butterfly but it wouldn't settle

Shame about the Green woodpecker and Orange tips can be very flighty and difficult to capture a decent image.

I have just joined your website and started to add one or two details but it might take some time as i have over 20 years worth of species from many parts of the world.

:wow: Super photos David  We saw a Green Woodpecker at one of our local reserves a couple of weeks back and that was my first ever sighting. It was a long, long way away but I was determined to get a few photos just for my records.

:wow2: stunning!!

I was wondering where you had been!

Can't pick a favourite because they are all fabulous in their own way but for sheer colour value the Blue-winged Mountain Tanager is a corker :clap3:

Did you manage any photos of the Flightless Cormorant or Woodpecker Finch?

I saw many wooderpecker finches, and many many other species of finch and other birds but sadly didn't get to photo everything :(

sadly I missed photographing a toucan because I'd left my 500mm lens back at the room:(

The Magnificent frigatebird is...well...magnificent!

Managed to see a few of these around the Florida keys and they are quite unlike anything in flight i had seen before.
