I've been running my "wildlife in my garden" thread for quite a while now, but I thought I'd start to have separate threads for birds etc instead.

I've just started to see a male Blackcap in my garden over the last couple of days. This is the first time this year, quite different from last year when I had a pair of them in my garden most days through the winter.
It seems to like the apples that have been out for a few days and starting to go more mushy, although I did see it go on a fresh one this morning, that is until a Blackbird chased it off. :giggle:

:thanks: for all of the lovely comments.

Up until a few days ago I was still getting the pair of Blackcaps coming to the garden, but I didn't see them yesterday or so far I haven't seen either of them to today. :(

Here's a few photos of them. I have taken some footage so will sort that out if I can, today.
It was easier to take photos of the male, especially when he decided to sunbath under one of the plants. :giggle:

First of all a couple of photos of the female.

She loved sitting here as it was close to the fat in the coconut....in fact she kept other birds off it......she seemed to say "this is mine!!" :giggle:

Male Blackcap.

After I'd taken that photo, he seemed to think, I like it here, it's nice and warm and promptly went down on the ground and sunbathed for about 5 minutes.

Brilliant photos Marg :clap3: I've missed out on photos of "my" pair of Blackcaps this winter as there hasn't been enough really bad weather to bring them into the yard, except on one occasion where I didn't have the camera to hand, so it's lovely to "share" your visitors.

I was going to start a new thread for Buzzards, but in the end I thought I'd put them on here.

I usually hear a lot of buzzards when I'm at Coombe Hill, but they're usually too far away, or way to high to get any photos. This time they were above my head, and not too high, I still had to crop the photos though.

Taken back on the 22nd August.

I went back there the next day (23rd August) there were a pair of them flying about this time, but they were a bit further away, and only managed to take photos of one of them.

This ones tail feathers look a bit tatty.
