A belated Thanks Dave.

A Spoonbill has been at Slimbridge for a couple of weeks now. Usually it's been asleep when I've seen it, but on my last visit, I had a big treat, and couldn't stop smiling for quite a long time. :lol2: Besides it being active!! it wasn't too far from the hide, so an excellent chance to try to get some good shots of it.

I got a bit carried away, so I hope I don't bore anyone, but it's not often you get to see one so close.

Having a good old scratch.

Now this isn't a very good photo really, but I had to put it up on here. Everyone, including me, had been trying to see a Kingfisher all morning, well it wasn't until I downloaded my photos that I saw this. As I said not brilliant, but the camera saw it, even if I didn't. The Kingfisher's even got a fish in it's beak. :lol2:

The Spoonbill, was having a great time pulling up some vegetation, why, I've no idea. :lol2:

Thanks for the lovely comments everyone. Jan, that was a sheer fluke with that Kingfisher, I had no idea that I'd even seen it until I looked through all the photos. It was a pity it wasn't sharper. :lol2:

The Spoonbill strolled down in between some Black-tailed Godwits for a while.
