It's nice to see a positive view of fungi :cool2: and not only the end-of-the-word-is-nigh articles usually seen re. fungi.

Ash die back is certainly very worrying - however I really do hope it is not as dire as some predict.

The 1987 storm was a disaster at the time - but many woods in the south-east have re-established well as a result and it allowed species a chance to flourish as in this article we saw a few weeks ago. LINK

This LINK from the arbtalk website - handily groups together all the "good fungi" ie mycorhizzal species which supply nutrients to the tree :grin:

getting slightly sidetracked ...I do like the arbtalk website - they can be handy for tracking down fungi ID's and they have some lovely photographs :cool:
