I managed to get out today for the first time in ages with my camera (while my Car was costing me £400 at its MOT). Went to the Aboretum, and yes we had a clear Blue sky and sunshine well for a couple of hours before the wind took over. Here's some photo's

Belated Thanks everyone.

Here are a few as promised from the weekend trip to Sellars Wood about 10 minutes from home.

Think this is a Chiffchaff first for 2014 for me.

i always find difficulty seperating chiff chaff from willow warbler andy but i was told at weekend that its too early for the willow warblers, chiff chaffs come back first so i would say chiff chaff also.

Andy have you been to Attenborough lately? I was reading about a new hide and bank for Sand martins that has been built there .

I would also plump for Chiffchaff at this time of year. The dark looking legs and feet is also a useful pointer here.

This link is worth a look out for more detailed id pointers between Chiffchaff and Willow Warbler.

Thanks Jan No not been to Attenborough this year yet but they have built a new hide(well replaced an old one with a bigger one, its down the river trent. Good for Kingfishers in August.

The Sand Martin wall is close to completion I believe so looking forward to seeing that.

I home to go this weekend weather permitting.
