Yes Paul - one of the ferry companies (not the one I was with) lands for a lighthouse tour. They do not, however, land on the nature reserves. I would much rather get close up and personal with the birds - but that is enough about my past at the queens rink :lol2:

:wow: Have just been catching up with all these wonderful photos. Lovely to see the seals and the puffins. Glad you had a good day out yesterday. It looks like a good place to go and visit, and you are lucky being quite close by.
Will have to get back up there at some point and try to visit there, it looks amazing.

:thanks: for posting

Your preference and mine peppiB, I have been lucky enough to have had the fortune of experiencing both. The last time I was there there was a huge swarm (sorry, I don't know the technical term for a group of jellyfish) of Jellyfish of shore, thousands of the critters :cool2:

As for the Queens Rink, well now your showing your age, I know my mother used to go there to watch the groups, there and somewhere in Stockton I think but she's reaaallllyyy old :giggle:

Absolutely stunning shots of the Puffins......I would love to see those. There was so much for you to take in on that visit, you must have been really buzzing with excitement by the end of the day, I know I would have been.

All your photos are absolutely brilliant, but my favourites are of the Puffins.

As I said before I'm so thrilled for you that you managed to finally get there, I hope that Rachael enjoyed it too, what a wonderful experience for her too.

So pleased to hear that you didn't need a tripod either, that was brilliant for you.

Thanks for taking the time to post all those photos for us. :cool2:

Thank you for the kind comments everyone. Not as exciting a place today, but took the peppimobile along the quay - travelled about 5 miles in total.Tide in so not too much about, but these were taken from wheelchair, no tripod and 600mm lens

These are coal staithes where many a thousand ton of the stuff was once loaded for transportation. Now it makes a good perch for cormorants
