:thanx: everyone.

Amethyst - you should come along the Tyne - there are about a dozen on a half mile stretch. Sometimes they make more noise than the gulls so it sounds as if you are on the high moors.

Yesterday there were about 50 redshank, and hundreds of knot and lapwing as well. We also get 3 heron, GBB and LBB gulls and a few crows seem to like the mud.

Just had a lovely catch up here, all superb photos PeppiB :cool2:

Those Swans are displaying a bit early, aren't they? (I'm probably wrong but I thought they didn't get seriously territorial until the spring  ).

I saw this last week at Kedleston Hall Gill and it does seem to be a tad early for any displaying.

I thought that at the time, but is was a balmy, mild day so they may have been confused!

Today I went out in search of waxwing. Turned out to be a wild goose chase .... and here are the geese

Posted Image

At first I thought Bean Geese, but they assured me they were still greylag! (white tip to bill)

and these Canada Geese show just how industrialised the area is Seal Sands, Hartlepool

It was an 80 mile round trip today for those elusive waxwing. Possibly I will have to consult with the piggy bank before venturing out again

This fellow was doing his best to hide a couple of days ago when I was along quay

And this sums up how cold and melancholy it was out there this afternoon

These are unusual to see along there

And even these chaps sometimes make a bog of landing in a tree!
