Jen - I think it is an immature red grouse - no red around the eye as yet (the other alternative is a female black grouse which are also in the area but in far fewer numbers)

I've just had a catch-up. Well done on getting a shot of the Red Grouse (instead of taking a shot at it :grin: ) and I love all your gull and curlew photos too.

Your sky looked nice and blue this morning - lucky to catch the goldfinch :greatpics:
