I'm glad you are managing to get out with the camera PeppiB. :cool3:

Very clear image of the helicopter but sad for the reason it was there :(

Lovely shots of the birds.

Great set of photos PeppiB :clap3:

Awful that they didn't manage to find the person that fell/jumped from the bridge.

Thanks all. Some of the photos have been in the camera for months. There were some more I remember seeing when I uploaded them, but at the moment can't find them on the laptop  Will keep searching.

Hopefully my, and particularly HL's, health will allow me to get out a bit more after Christmas

Dave - sometimes it can be weeks or even months from someone going in to the body being found

Another couple

Blimey ! peppi .. that helicopter was close :scream: Sadly people jump off bridges here from time to time . Samaritans have their ph number on boards across the bridges and sometimes it helps

Lovely to see the old photos here and on the Last Letter game thread :cool1:

I'm the same :bag: keep losing them :rolleys:

Dragged camera ot of its bag again, and surprisingly the battery wasn't flat so off along the quay. Not a lot happening, other than kittiwakes galore, but here are a few from this morning

Thanks Ann. Easier to photograph on the Guild Hall rather than a sea cliff somewhere

Thanks Tabatha and Marg.

Yes Tabatha, they are still there. This year for some reason (probably no money) the council are not steam cleaning the area every day, so the smell is tear jerking.

Marg - the Kittiwakes are everywhere. On an evening they swoop past flat just outside balcony door. It is very quiet when they disappear in late summer

:clap4: great that you're out and about and taking photos again , peppi ..... It's nice to see the kittiwakes nearby but the smell and mess must be something else :thud:

I wonder what H&S have to say these days .. one department says it has to be cleaned .. the other says there's no money :impatient:

Thanks Paula, Dave and Jen

The smell around the Kittiwakes in the heat this morning was stomach wrenching. One of the posh hotels in town has just taken over a pub right under the bridge and have spent months steam cleaning the exterior. They are still renovating the interior. This morning the newly cleaned outside was well and truly covered in sh..

Thanks Grayling

Jen - a few years ago there were plans afoot to net the bridge and adjacent buildings (Gateshead side is netted) but the colony is world renouned for being the furthest inland anywhere. Loads of people come to see it
