Lovely photos PeppiB. :cool3:

That's strange how the Cormorants are absent at the moment, perhaps they'll be back later.

Thank you

Curlew have been back a couple of weeks now. Usually the cormarants are here all year round

:greatpic: PeppiB I wonder if the cormorants have gone to the coast to look for fish.

Again, thank you everyone.

Tabatha - there are loads of fish in there - it is tidal salt/brackish water and it supports the local colony of seals. The humans catch a fair few as well.

I was amazed at some of the photos as there is very little camera shake for a change

Posted Image peppi , perhaps the shakes are improving .. they tell me a drop of red wine helps

That first photo made me smile .. wading through the mud :) Super pics :cool3:

Most of our gulls have gone down to the estuary now so it's reasonably peaceful . I hope the cormorants appear again .. good to see the curlew

Maybe they are making the most of the coastal air before it turns cold. :girlygiggle:

Quite possibly Tabatha! There were 3 of the beasties along there a couple of days ago.

Blowing a gale today keeping birds away

High tide, and the usual expanse of mudflats looks more like the North Sea

Good training for these guys

Leaves definitely turning now

Throughout North and South Tyneside, Sunderland, Gateshead and Newcastle there is a display of 60 'Snow Dogs' in aid of St Oswalds Hospice, with the dogs being auctioned off at the end of the display. These all started off as identical white moulding/castings and were given to artists for interpretation. These 2 are on the quay near me

This is 'Strawberry Dog' He is perfectly flat. The artist has done a brilliant job creating the illusion of dimples.

Have forgotten the name of this one  - it is at the end of the Millennium Bridge. Adult human included to give an idea of size

There are several scattered through the City Centre but I never remember to photograph them when concentrating on shopping I forget enough things without distractions!

:Woo!: I want the strawberry dog :circles: how clever of the artist to give the illusion of dimples peppi , i thought they really were little indentations ... like wise Ann , the autumn leaves are a glorious colour . Perhaps the other dog is called Oswald  :)

High tide does look very breezy , it's a lovely view peps :cool1:

Thanks all. Jen - I can let you know when they all come up for auction so you can book your telephone line! St Oswalds is the name of the hospice. That other one is Tall Tail Jack
There is one in part of Eldon Square covered entirely in white fur - he is Polar Dog

Here is a link to all 60

Thanks Laurie. It was blowing a gale whilst I was out yesterday so there will be a few less leaves around today.

Knew I should have checked that name first instead of pulling it from my not so good memory - it is Tyne Tail Jack

Jen - I prefer Strawberry Dog as well, although one of the two outside the Theatre Royal has some spectacular line drawings on it. No idea what each will bring when they are sold off.
