wow that's a bit rough peppi , but a nice blue sky . Hope you enjoyed the mini fish and chips :yum: A couple of friends and their children in the past had fish and chips with a glass of bubbly each year on Christmas Eve

Trust you're feeling better today .. sensible to stay at home so long as you know when to go in :yep: and you do

Great shots peppi :cool4:

I know Whitby very well having lived up that way for most of my life, before we moved here.

From those shots I'm guessing you weren't too far away from the whale-bone (which I presume is still there :paul: )

I hope you're feeling better soon.

Great photos, PeppiB. Such a shame you haven't been well, it's a struggle to try and carry on as normal when you don't feel great. I hope you're starting to feel better today.

Thanks all.

Laurie - they were taken on the north side of the harbour. Whale bones on top of the West Cliff have been replaced with fibre glass ones as the originals were suffering from the weather

What a pity you were feeling off colour for your visit to Whitby, Peppi, I hope you are feeling better now. It looks as though you had a a bright day and you can see from the waves there was a strong breeze. It is years since we have been in Whitby. My parents were very fond of it. I have an old photo of my father there on his 21st birthday in 1918. They also spent their honeymoon there in 1924. I wonder how much it has changed, there certainly wouldn't have been cars there to spoil the viewa.

Eric - Whitby doesn't change much. First time I was there was 1950 and other than different amusements in the arcades, a new supermarket beside the station and a tourist information centre, it is about the same.

Following a nap, I woke feeling yukkie so clambered into the chair, just as the sun was setting

Beautiful sunset colours there peppi :cool4:

It's a shame about that whalebone in Whitby. I'm glad I remember it in its original condition. I'm sure the fibre glass one looks good but still, it's just not the same
