Son now a Southern Softie again, so restless this afternoon and as the sun was setting, trundled down onto the Quayside

Thank you everyone.

Jen - the i phone is with me at all times and that camera is so much easier than lugging equipment around. Shame it doesn't zoom to enable bird photographs
I used to have the 'gorilla cam' app, but even that doesn't zoom enough

Peppi, I don't know how I missed these wonderful photos. I hope you are feeling a bit better. I am afraid I too rely on my phone these days, the camera is too heavy.

Thanks Eric and Tabatha

Eric - I keep wondering whether I should sell my DSLR kit whilst they are still worth something. I can't even lift my digiscope now, never mind use it!

what a nice view peppi , for a moment i thought the buildings in the foreground were a reflection as well as a few of those at the back and the bridge , is it

Thanks again everyone.

Jen - the buildings in the foreground is Mariners Wharf, a mere 5 paces from the water. We lived there when we first came to Newcastle (I wasn't in the wheelchair then) No lifts, no en suite, no gas so heating was storage heaters, the garages are too small to get a car in so can only be used for storage and all the garage doors lead into a single communal space inside, and the flat we had became infested with rats as someone had removed a drain cover inside the wheelie bin cupboard, so they shinned up the soil pipe, enlarged the hole fractionally and got into the service ducts. From there it was just a case of nipping through the hole for the washing machine drain and into the kitchen. 3 of them on on kitchen worktops at 3 am 10 Christmases ago terrified HL when she went in for a drink. We moved to the top of the hill a few months later!
