Brilliant photos Tim ![]() The Hummingbird captures are magnificent as are the in-flight shots of the Tern and Grey Heron Really chuckled at the 'Thinking of moving to a bigger island' tag....perfect! I remember the Hooded Merganser at Radipole and i seem to recall it was a very long-staying individual. |

Taken in the Uk but obviously not native, I felt the sheer presence and intimidation of this magnificent raptor deserved posting. Seen and photographed at close quarters (but not too close!) at the Hawl & Owl Conservancy, Andover.![]() Bald Eagle 3 by timtapley, on Flickr ![]() Bald eagle 2 by timtapley, on Flickr |

Taken at Slimbridge this Flamingo, in the collection, was an early effort in my photography learning curve. Not a technical triumph but I love the colours reflecting in the water from the other Flamingos around it. I look forward to repeating this shot when I get the chance.![]() Flamingo by timtapley, on Flickr |

Two Barn Owl Pics. Tis first one was taken at the Hawk & Owl Conservancy, hence the chance for a good close up whilst it sat still. Not a true nature shot but it is a chance to show the beautiful coloration of the plumage.![]() Barn Owl 1 by timtapley, on Flickr This one was taken from some distance in the wild, so the severe crop means the quality isn't great, but again it shows the beautiful patterning in the wing and if you look very closely you can just see the tail of it's vole prey poking out under the feet. ![]() Barn Owl by timtapley, on Flickr |

Barred Owl chick taken in the Florida Everglades. They were so cute and looked like they were made out of bits of wool. They were as fascinated with us as we were with them and one even climbed down to get a closer look at us.
