Red Kite (Milvus milvus). What a great success story for species reintroduction. An example of what can be achieved by those who do care. It is just a shame that they were persecuted so fiercely in the first place. And even more of a shame that they still are by a few ignorant self serving individuals.![]() Red Kite 2 by timtapley, on Flickr ![]() Red Kite (Milvus milvus) by timtapley, on Flickr |

The Pheasant (Phasianus colchicus) may not be a native bird and may be a controversial introduced species, but it really is an outstandingly colourful addition to our countryside. I can't quite see the thrill of shooting such a beautiful creature, but I suppose if others didn't, it wouldn't be here!![]() Pheasant (Phasianus colchicus) by timtapley, on Flickr ![]() Pheasant 2 by timtapley, on Flickr Edited by tappersnapper, Apr 3 2013, 08:20 PM.

Thanks everyone for looking and comments. Paula - The Puffins are great fun to watch and pretty obliging for photos, unless they are being harried by gulls trying to steal their catch, in which case they disappear into their burrows instantly. |
