Well, no big surprises here, the obvious signs of Autumn for us are the falling leaves.

We are surrounded by deciduous trees - especially oak and beech where I live, and this is the time of year when I'm having to do a lot more leaf clearing from our lawn and paths. I used to have an electric leaf blower/sucker-upper but it stopped working last year, so it's all manual work now with a leaf rake :rolleys:

I love walking through the fallen leaves out in the Forest though, but I don't mind that as I don't have to clear them up :cwl:

Lovely photos Jen and Tabatha.

Much more fungi about after the rain on Saturday and the leaves are starting to turn colour but no intense golds or reds yet :leaves:

Ann, I have always understood that spindle berries are extremely poisonous. Whether any animal or bird could eat them I don't know but I assume not because the berries always seem to stay on the trees a long time.

It is still just about autumn so not so much a sign of autumn but has anyone else noticed the last of the leaves falling today after the very cold night last night.

I have been watching the alder tree in the garden todat going from being full of leaves to be almost bare now,the leaves have been falling steadily like confetti all day :leaves:

Indeed, i think that heavy frost will put pay to any lingering autumn colours.

 We probably have a way to go yet but these sights from Saturday reminded me of Autumn knocking at the door . Ripening sloes , rowan berries and heather :)

Lovely photos, Jen. It feels like Autumn is already here. I'm seeing lots of fungi and like your photo, masses of rowan berries.

Lovely photos Jen and the weather certainly feels more like autumn than summer at the moment.
