There is a place a short train journey from here that has a lot of sweet chestnuts ... the bigger ones i've roasted in the past :yum:

Phenomenal amount of Hawthorn and Rose hop berries at Holme Marsh, the winter thrushes will have a field day!

:clap4: smashing , Dave ... it feels like Autumn to me with all the berries and fallen leaves now . The chestnuts and berries are plentiful and there are lots of yellowing leaves around . Not so many of the specimen ones with bright red and we don't have beech close by

Hopefully we should visit Kedleston Hall in a few weeks and here are a couple of photos from there we took a couple of years ago...the fallen beech leaves were absolutely stunning.
