We managed to capture a few photos of the eclipse this morning before it disappeared behind thick cloud.

just beat me to the thread , Dave
Glasgow started beautifully ...then 'round about 9 ish the clouds covered the sky :rolleys:
i did manage a glimpse through the cloud cover but judging by Dave's great pics , it must have been as the moon left the parted because the "crescent" of the Sun appeared on the right hand side .
oh well , they'll be plenty more pictues and TV to catch up on .

:greatpic: Dave. Unfortunately it was thick cloud here. It just went a bit dark, very disappointing.

Was pretty good here in Oxford.

A friend who works next door brought his telescope to work and I had a solar filter on my camera. Loads of people came to look at the gear and see the pictures we had. We gladly obliged and let them see it in safety on the live screen of the camera or with the special glasses we had.

I ended up with a nice series.

There was a little sunspot to the top left.

which was gradually eaten!

And then looked a bit like an eye on a big pacman looking to eat something in return :)

Some of the photos that i have seen on Twitter, taken in the UK, look tampered with to me..they just don't look or feel right and shadows etc are in the wrong place, plus i don't think there was anywhere that had clear blue skies that day.
