Excellent photos , particularly like the Corncrake as I spent ages in Harris standing in one spot trying to get a photo, plenty of calling but sadly nothing else

That's a typical story with Corncrake, John, most of the time all you get to hear is that 'crex crex' calling and if you are lucky, you get to see the bird. My first Corncrake i was extremely lucky with and one popped out of some dense grass after literally just setting up our scopes.

A few birds from my short trip to Norfolk. I made a point of visiting Sculthorpe Moor after Julie and Dave's recommendation and I have to agree, it's a fantastic reserve with opportunities to get really close to the wildlife. They also had some Harvest Mice in reception

Thank you all. It's only the second time I've ever managed to photograph Bramblings, John and to have them feeding just a few feet away was amazing. I'll definitely be going back to Sculthorpe, Jan. I wish I could have stayed longer at the time but it wasn't easy cramming so many things into a long weekend.

I hope your trip is as enjoyable as mine Tabatha. Looking forward to seeing your photos.

Superb photos Ann and love the shots of the Brambling.

Glad you enjoyed Sculthorpe moor and although we didn't see a great deal whilst we were there a few weeks ago, it's not unusual to see the likes of Kingfisher, Water Vole, Water Shrew, Marsh Harrier etc all on the same visit.

Thank you. What impressed me most was that unlike some reserves where the hides are a million miles from the wildlife, at Sculthorpe it was possible to get really good views of the wildlife. The volunteers there were really friendly and helpful too.
