Funnily enough it was a year ago, almost to the day, at the same place that I managed to get some really close-up photos of a Little Egret. I've been back to the area a number of times and not seen it but yesterday, there it was again.

Thank you Grayling. I sometimes wish wildlife could be a bit more predictable.

The sun didn't put in an appearance until about 2pm today but as soon as it did, I decided to visit the local lake. The Grebes have made a bit of a nest, they were obviously very proud of it and didn't venture far from it today. Even the Coots weren't as active as they usually are, the only action to be had was this Swan splashing around.

hi Ann , :wave2: I really must apologise for never commenting on your thread. you're always complimentary on mine and I don't know how I've missed this one :bag: my only excuse is that I tend to check things out a lot on my phone and your superb pics don't come up ,just a link ....it won't happen again :yep: fantastic stuff . ;)

John, that's so sweet of you, there's no need to apologise. I think I upload my photos differently to most people (I resize them and upload directly from my computer) and maybe that's why you see them as a link.

Beautiful Ann, especially the first swan photo. It can be so hard to get good photos of white wildlife................at least it is for this point & shoot person!!!

Thank you Pam, yes "white" is a nightmare to photograph.

I spotted this Red Kite yesterday, checking out a children's playground. Not sure if it fancied a go on the swings or perhaps it was looking for spilled crisps.

What an excellent photo of the Red Kite, Ann. I have never been able to get a close up of one perched, even though there is one regularly sitting on the top of a fir tree close to our hedge,
