Thank you all so much for your lovely comments on my photos, and for wishing me well. I'm not used to spending this much time within the confines of these four walls so I hope it won't be long before I'm out in the fresh air, taking photos again. In the meantime I'm enjoying your photos and wildlife sightings.

Today I went out to get me a Turtle Dove! Dave has been teasing me on another thread with a rather splendid photo of a Turtle Dove and it's a bird I've been wanting to see for years. I just happened to be browsing on another website yesterday and realised there was a possibility of seeing one almost on my doorstep, at Otmoor.

Not the best photos I've ever taken unfortunately but I'm pleased to have finally seen one.

Thank you all, the Turtle Dove was a great find for me and it turned out to be much easier than I imagined. I had no idea there were a few at Otmoor.

Much better again now, thank you Paula.

I've just got back from a fantastic little holiday. The main purpose of the trip was to look for Large Blue butterflies and High Brown Fritillaries but then I drove further west until I got to a little campsite on a farm between Cardigan and Mwnt. I thought I might find Choughs at Mwnt as I'd seen them there years ago but I couldn't believe my luck when I found some on the campsite itself, in a field full of those big round hay bales next to the coastal path. I had fun and games trying to get close enough for a decent photo though, hiding behind the hay bales where possible. I also saw dolphins from the campsite and some foxes playing in one of the fields.

Thank you, it was a wonderful holiday but the trouble with holidays is having to return to the normal routine afterwards.

Did you notice whether any of the Chough's had rings on their legs, Ann?

No rings on any of the birds I photographed Dave. I do have photographs of ringed birds at Mwnt years ago though.
