Jan, it is next doors, I can see it from the small bedroom at the back. I have just received my feeding pole today, but I don't know how long I will have to wait for my husband to put it up. It has got 4 hooks on it. Also I am not sure where to put it.

Don't hold your breath. I did mention it to my husband yesterday to a very negative response.

Will post when it is eventually put up.

Lovely photos of your pair of Blackbirds Di. let's hope that they nest in your garden in the spring.

Lovely photos Tabatha. Now that you've got your bird pole up, I expect that they'll soon be visiting your garden as well.

I'm assuming that this is the same female Blackbird that is waiting for me every morning for the raisins. She seems quite tame, and I can get quite close to her. I've got 6 blackbirds that visit my garden on a regular basis, but only two are females, so that should be fun!! later on in the spring.

:hello1: Jan, she's either plump from all of the raisins :giggle: or she's fluffed, up because it was so cold this morning.

That is a lovely close up Marg. I think I have seen more male blackbirds than female.

:thanks: for posting :bird1:

This male Blackbird had just had a drink at my bird bath but I wasn't quick enough with my camera to capture him there, so I just about caught him on my garden wall before he flew off again. :bird1:

A nice photo Di. :cool4:
It is hard to catch some of these birds on camera isn't it. I seem to have been going around with the camera either very close at hand, or around my neck this morning. :girlygiggle:
Needless to say, I haven't got much work done, still it's not every day or year come to that, that we get snow like we've had in the last few days.

I mentioned in the chat thread, that I saw quite a big flock of Fieldfares flying around this morning. Well here are a few photos. Sorry if any are blurred, but they were all taken behind glass, and quite a distance away.
Some of them landed in a tree in the distance.

Then some more landed in my apple tree.

Some of them landed on my bottom lawn, they were all after 1 apple. A couple of starlings tried to get in on the act as well.

Then they all flew away. I only just managed to catch the last few on camera, as they flew over the house. It's not a brilliant photo, and as you can see the sky was very grey, so they didn't show up too well.

I think we have all been watching out of the window for some interesting birds to come into the garden today. :photo:

The Robins and the Blackbirds have just caught on these past few days, that they can find some suet (that is hanging in the tree) that's been dropped by the Starlings onto the top of the hedgehog box.
