 The gulls have been flying over the garden quite a lot recently but this was the first time I had noticed them actually land in the garden. :seagull:

Great shot of the blackbird Jean :cool2:

This Pigeon was on my bird table this afternoon and let me get quite close. It wasn't 'Percy' from last year, though.

Couldn't zoom in any closer but this Magpie was perched on a neighbour's chimney.

I have put this on this thread as this is really about the woodpigeons ,this is the very old copper
beech tree that was taken down today, but it has always been home to the woodpigeon and this
morning this pair were really happy cuddled up ,it was really sad to see this beautiful tree felled.

:hello1: Lovely pictures Jean ,its sad the tree has had to go ,i bet those wood pigeons feel really lost ,its lucky that it has been felled before anything nested,it must look very odd without it.

home and i just loved the sun streaming through it used to light the house up,i wont miss the leaves
though, but the birds singing in the morning will be be hardest, still its gone now and have some lovely
photos of it.I have got three lovely stumps for seats in the garden from it ,so thats lovely :cool2:

I was a shame about the tree, I do hope your wood pigeons find another roost nearby. It would be sad if they disappeared for good.

:thanks: for posting the photos, it looked like quite a large tree.

Lovely photos there, Jean. It is sad, but hopefully the Wood Pigeons will find somewhere close by.

Lovely photo's Jean, such a shame it had to come down but i'm sure the wood pigeons will find another roosting place as they are very adaptable, nice that you got some stumps out of it for your garden though.
