Well done Forget Me Not. I don't think the wood pigeons around here are feeling frisky. They are still arguing over the food! The nearest I have got to a mating pair, is a couple of collared doves, that are usually together.

Managed to take some photos of this House Sparrow in my garden and then caught him taking a drink from my bird bath.

It was quite busy in the garden this morning. Another new visitor is this black pigeon. (He seems to look black from a distance any way)

The wood pigeons seem to leave the pigeons alone.

A few starlings on the bird table. At one time this morning there must have been about ten of them on it.

Like Jan I've just been catching up on this thread.

Lovely photos Jean, that Jackdaw looks like it's on a mission. :girlygiggle:

Brilliant photos of the Sparrow Di. I don't see many in my garden, and if I do they're usually at the top of some very tall trees. I think that I've got some of your Starlings as well. :girlygiggle:

It's good to see that the Wood pigeons and Pigeons get on so well Tabatha, lovely photos.

Di - I am surprised you don't see starlings in your garden, there are loads around here. At one point this morning my bird table had so many starlings on it I couldn't count them!

Sparrowhawk
Just an update on the ring necked doves that are nesting in my fir tree, well so far they are still there, swaying nicely in the strong winds and heavy rain we have had over the passed days, my Husband said he saw two of them the other morning but I have still only seen the one, trouble is the nest is less than six feet from the ground,it's such a funny place to nest, and we have a resident sparrow hawk can't see how this is going to have a happy ending.

Fingers crossed that it will be ok in the end Bluebell, the weather this week hasn't helped any of the nesting birds

I think the weather is supposed to be better next week. Also tomorrow should be dry (better than today).

Bluebell, it doesn't sound too good, especially if there is a sparrowhawk around. We can only hope, I think.

Fingers crossed Bluebell but the presence of a Sparrowhawk doesn't bode too well, mind you it could overlook the Collared doves for other prey, please keep us updated with any news Bluebell :thanx:

I think this one takes the biscuit. You will see one wood pigeon is standing in one bowl and eating out of the other one. The other wood pigeon is then unable to get at the food!

One of the collared doves on sentry duty.
